Located in the northern part of Oglala Lakota County on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation , we are a collective group of families that God has called together for His name alone to be made great in Porcupine, South Dakota. Chanku Waste Ranch was established in 2011 and has been afforded countless opportunities since to serve, love on, and come alongside our Lakota community in unique, exciting ways. We are thrilled that you would stop by to check it out!
What began as a vision to facilitate a free summer camp has ultimately grown to become an extension of our local church, Creator's Fellowship. The heart behind it started out and continues to be to provide a fun and exciting place for kids to enjoy during the summer months. A place that assists in laying a foundation of truths regarding who God is and how He loves us all, a space that shares the fellowship of a meal together and the beauty of God’s family being made up of and celebrating every tribe, tongue, and nation. A welcoming, safe place where we strive to always point the purpose, intentions, and glory back to our magnificent Creator. Being a direct extension to our local church, God has in turn provided us a platform to continue to grow and reach young people and adults alike year-round as well.
This would never be possible without the incredibly selfless generosity of individuals and churches all across the country who have come alongside us to join God in what He’s doing here on Pine Ridge Reservation.
Our vision for the future is to continue in the work that God has already started, but also to pursue fresh, new ways that He’d lead us to point our community back to our faithful Creator. Pray for us and pray with us that God would anoint the efforts made here on His behalf and that above all else, Čhaŋkú Wašté Ranch would live out it’s namesake as ‘The Good Road’ leading every foot that walks it to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. To His Name be the glory, forever, and ever. Amen.
And thank YOU! We are so grateful for your interest in seeing all that God is doing in and through us here at the Ranch.
